the meebo team

the people working all the time so that you can communicate anytime

We're just a bunch of great people working together to bring your IM buddies to you absolutely anywhere. Hopefully this lets you get all of your IMing done in one place and makes it easier too.

Xootr Man (Officially uninsurable) Seth majored in Political Science at Yale. He then worked at IBM in the M&A group before he went to Stanford's Business School. Seth flies airplanes (less than he'd like to, but it's expensive!), rides motorcycles, and rollerblades.
AJAX Girl (The Prosopagnosiac) Elaine majored in Symbolic Systems at Stanford. After Stanford, she worked at Synaptics as the Manager of Usability. Elaine plays the violin and migrated west to California, after growing up on a goat farm.
Server Chick (Oh snap) Sandy majored in Computer Science at Stanford and after graduation, went on to work for Xilinx in San Jose for a couple of years. She climbs and plays ultimate frisbee a couple times a week, and loves a good nap.
Jill of all Trades (Mother Bear) Andrea is everything administrative, married, and the Mom of 2 teens, which she thinks keeps her cool (but they don't believe it!). She spent a lot of time in start-ups and venture capital (that's how she met Seth). Andrea likes to boat, ski, and is a sun worshipper.
Mr. Sparkle (In stereo where available) Jian majored in Computer Science at Stanford. He worked at Bell Labs and Expedia while in school and then joined Blazent after graduation. He likes practicing taiji, playing frisbee, mixing/djing and is a big fan of cartoons and animation.
Ops Guy (Are you going to finish that?) Simon majored in Computer Science & Engineering at UCLA, and Computer Science at Stanford grad school. Since school, he worked for a number of companies including Nortel, BBN Planet, Gigabeat, Loudcloud, and EDS. He plays golf, is a home theater enthusiast, and loves watching movies.
Dr. Debugger (It has a brake?) Andreas majored in Computer Engineering at UC Santa Cruz. After school, he went to work for Thuridion where he learned the ins and outs of AJAX. When not working on exciting new features for Meebo, you might catch him flying (the speed limit) down the freeway on his motorcycle or meditating by the water in Santa Cruz.
The Pidgin Guy (Rocket king) Mark majored in Computer Science at North Carolina State University. He worked at SAS for a few years after graduation, then moved across the country to work for Meebo. He cycles some and rock climbs when he has time. And his fiancée is awesome.
Marketing Dude (Phone sewn to ear) Danny majored in Political Science at UC Davis. He then worked at Bite Communications, spending half his time in BD and the other half consulting to technology companies. When he's not talking up Meebo to potential partners, you can usually find him heckling the Dodgers, teaching himself guitar or reading a geeky business book.
Tea Solves Everything (JavaScript historian) Paul studied computer engineering at the University of Southampton. He recently moved to the Mission District of San Francisco, but had been growing his hair and beard for several months in preparation. He digs The Beatles, like, a lot.
Agent Icon (The artist formerly known as ) David majored in Computer Science at Università di Bologna. When he's not traveling the world (David lives in Italy), he enjoys spending quality time with friends and family. He loves Brazilian music and is proud of the fact that he squandered away two years of college designing icons for open source projects.
"M" (Actually...) Martin majored in Commerce at Queen's University, Canada and studied economics at Kansai Gakuin in Japan. After graduation, he worked at Morgan Stanley in New York and in 1996 became an early member of the CNET Networks management team. Martin eats, cycles, runs and loves chatting with his wife and two children.
The Count (One with data) Bob joins us from Apple after spending 4½ years doing a bunch of really complicated things with network traffic analysis. At Meebo, Bob helps the team understand statistics and what users really and truly want. In his free time, Bob rides motorcycles, climbs large rocks (and mountains) and does yoga.
Le Car (not Peugeot...) Renaud majored in Image Processing and Physics at ENSPS in France. He was at Synaptics for 7 yrs working on pattern recognition and developing GUI software. In his spare time, he enjoys rock climbing, traveling and photography, but above all he loves road trips in the desert, exploring canyons in Utah or hiking up sand dunes in Death Valley.
Dog Whisperer (With knee pads) Vijay joins us from Yahoo where he worked on crazy-large systems. Prior to that he was at Motorola, Berkeley, and was one of the original signers of the Declaration of Independence. When he's not chasing a bug or strapping on his body armor for 4^2, he's actively training for the software engineering triathlon: table tennis, foosball, and pool.
Mr. Roboto (With a spatula) Jim majored in Computer Science at Stanford, and loved it. He did research in artificial intelligence, teaching computers to recognize objects and understand images—a task that is simple for people, but far more challenging for computers. Jim enjoys spending time outdoors, swing dancing, cooking, and just hanging out.
And Knowing is (Half the battle) Ted is a Bay Area native and studied Econ and EE at Stanford. He joins us from Genentech and before that, he worked at Planisware. These days, he spends most of his time on the business team working with the Ps of Meebo (Partners, Platform, Puns, & Product). Which one isn't true?
Customer Service Dudette (Have a nice day) Sue majored in Information Systems Management at USF. She worked at HP for quite a few years, mostly in the Customer Service/Support arena. When she's not answering the emails from users and checking out forums, she likes to spend time with her family and is a NASCAR fan! She also likes music and singing.
The Brand Aid (Go big or go home) Mikey graduated with honors from Stanford's Interdisciplinary Program in Social Life (IPSL). Upon leaving, he cut his teeth on the front lines of three major political campaigns, then worked at Facebook before joining Meebo's business team. He plays guitar in a rock band, follows his beloved Yankees, and has a penchant for dating superstar athletes.
Rooty (Insert 2 beers to continue...) Paul joins us from San José State University, where he specialized in breaking servers. And fixing them, on occasion. Having patented the original flux capacitor, Paul spends much of his time coming up with complicated scripts to accomplish simple tasks.
The Producer (Rockin') Robb double-majored in Finance and Spanish at U. of Illinois and later earned his MBA from Northwestern (Kellogg). He has worked for Sony BMG Music Entertainment and MTV Networks. He is now a proud part of the Meebo business team and focuses on developing way-cool partnerships with record labels and other media companies.
People Person (How can I help you?) Yuie majored in MIS at SJSU. She worked at Integrated Device Technology for 10 years within the IT dept. She loves spicy food, sushi, and coffee. In her free time, she likes to scrapbook.
Ad Princess (Stylish) Selam joins us from the LA Times after spending 4½ years doing national advertising sales and marketing. Prior to that she was working for the Campbell Soup Co, working with all of the major grocery chains in Nor Cal. She is a UCLA alumna, travel enthusiast (especially when it comes to tropical destinations) and is slightly obsessed with certain reality shows.
Sudoer (Untrustable near technology) Adam came from the Physics department at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio and only just heard about this "Internets" thing. Working with Open Architecture Tin Cans and String, he helps out around the house mostly as a computer operations and condensed soup expert.
All Things B (Business, that is) Natalie majored in Economics from Stanford. She then worked for Goldman Sachs in New York and Swander Pace Capital in San Francisco before returning to Stanford for business school. After receiving her MBA, Natalie joined Google's Finance team. Natalie is a warm weather junkie, having grown up in Hawaii, and loves soccer, photography, and snowboarding.
Design Whiz (It's off a pixel) Christian majored in Illustration at the Academy of Art in San Francisco. For the past 10 years he has applied his creative visual design "skills" including print, UI, and web design for numerous firms in the bay area. Christian enjoys mountain biking, sketching grungy creatures, and has a passion for vintage VW's.
anita The Staffing One (It's all about staffing) Anita joins us from Google's recruiting team and is looking to bring in awesome candidates to help grow Meebo! She majored in Communication at Santa Clara University and is crazy about good food, pretty pink drinks, and traveling. Anita also loves photography, videography, and the water.
priscilla Pixel Pixie (Works magic) Priscilla cotermed in computer science at Stanford where she focused on HCI and Graphics. She’s interned at various places (NTT Labs in Japan and Apple Computer). Priscilla enjoys swimming, dancing, reading, hiking, lying on the beach, trying out new hobbies, and hanging out in her hometown of San Francisco.
chris Szetopia (Brainstormer) Chris majored in Computer Science at Yale University. Chris joined Yahoo! working on Yahoo! Messenger and also has experience at Microsoft and Google working on MSN Chat and Google Talk. Chris has been working in the IM and online communications space for over 8 years. Nowadays, he can be found on a soccer pitch, teaching voice, or responding to IMs with grammar and punctuation corrections.
diem Carpe Diem (Sure, why not?) Diem majored in Economics at UC San Diego and later obtained her MBA from Webster University. Prior to joining Meebo, Diem was on the recruiting team at Google. She grew up in beautiful San Diego and prefers sandals over shoes. Diem enjoys creating new recipes from leftovers, travelling (almost 20 countries so far), and believes that ice cream is a panacea.
amy The Cat Herder (You're late!) Amy comes from 7 years at a commercial real estate company where she did everything from Executive Assistant to Purchasing. When not herding the executive team, Amy enjoys running, kickboxing, hiking, playing with her dogs, and taking in a good comedy show or movie.

Interns (2007)

The Tropical Intern (Coconut flavored) Originally from Maui, Matt majored in physics at Stanford and just finished a master's degree in CS, also at Stanford. During his undergrad years, he worked at Bell Labs and CERN, writing software for physics applications. He enjoys the outdoors, traveling, and teaching people how to "high pi" and dance the "towel".

The Older, Wiser Intern (Whistling with gratuitous vibrato) Ben thrills at the taste of gummy things. His idea of a joke is saying something absurd with such charisma that it cannot but be believed, at least for a moment or two. He does not fear to dabble in extraneous profundity. Ben is majoring in this and that at Stanford.
Code Monkey (It runs as coded) Ryan is a junior majoring in Math & Computational Sciences at Stanford. He knows 314 digits of pi and will write them in the shape of a big pi for you at request. Ryan enjoys rock climbing, squash (the sport), basketball, and generally balling out of control style no big deal style.

Thanks for visiting!
