Meebo support

We regret to inform you that we have decided to shut down the Meebo rooms product. This is not a decision we have made lightly. At Meebo, we are creating products that connect people to interests and to other people who share those interests, and we have come to believe that Meebo Rooms no longer help us best serve those goals.

We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you, but we want to let you know exactly what is going away so you can take any measures you feel are necessary in preparation.

August 9th, 2011:

• Private rooms can no longer be created from meebo.com/messenger.
• Embeddable rooms can no longer be created from meebo.com/rooms.

October 4th, 2011:

• Users will no longer be able to join any Meebo rooms - this includes private rooms as well as embedded public rooms.
• Rooms embedded on other sites will disappear - the area occupied by the flash widget will become blank - we recommend you remove any room widgets on your site by this time.
• All Meebo rooms will be removed from Meebo buddy lists.

We appreciate all the users who used Meebo rooms over the years, and we regret that you are no doubt disappointed in this decision. You may wish to investigate services such as http://tinychat.com/ or http://centralchat.net/. We also encourage you to explore Meebo’s more recent products.
