This page contains frequently asked questions and information we hope that will help troubleshoot issues you are having with meebo chat rooms.

Some issues can be resolved by clearing your browser cache and then refreshing the meebo page. Try that as the first step in troubleshooting.

Who can create a meebo room?

Anyone can create a meebo room. Only users with a valid meebo id will be able to moderate the meebo rooms they create and modify the configuration of the rooms later if they choose to.

How do I become a room moderator?

Room creators have moderation control over their rooms. They can also assign moderators for their room. Moderators have a star icon next to their name within the room. You can check with the room moderator to see if they would like extra help moderating their rooms.

There is a room that doesn't seem to have an owner; how can I become the owner?

Transferring ownership of a meebo room from one meebo account to another is currently not possible. This is on our list of considerations.

How do I change a room I created into a 'private' room?

1. Enter your room
2. Click on configure at the top of your room
3. Check the private option near the bottom of the configuration window
4. Enter a password for your private room

Visitors to your room will need to enter the password in order to join the room. Currently, chat logs are not available for private rooms. Private rooms are also not embeddable.

How many concurrent users can be in a meebo room?

80 at a time. If you have a special event where you think you'll need more than that, please contact us

. Be sure to include the name of the room, the event date, and your meebo username.

What is Network Message: Sorry! Nickname not allowed?

There is censoring of nicknames for the rooms. Choose an appropriate name.

How do I change the color of my name when I'm in a room?

Currently, there is no option to change the color of your name. It is automatically assigned.

Can I pop out a meebo room?

To pop out a meebo room outside of your meebo page, click on the pop out icon at the upper right corner of your room. For those of you with multiple monitor setup, this will allow you to view the conversations happening in more than one meebo room at a time without having to minimize the size of the meebo room windows.

How do I delete the chat logs inside a meebo room?

There isn't an option to remove previous chat conversations from inside a meebo rooms. The previous chat conversations are displayed so that any new visitor of a room can quickly catch up on the existing topics of discussion and join in on the talks.

How can I get rid of meebo rooms completely from the meebo page?

Currently, there is no option to remove meebo rooms. If you don't want to see the meebo room console, you can minimize it by clicking on the minimize button to the left of the meebo room console header.
