After signing in to Meebo Messenger, you will see the Meebo Messenger Interface, as shown below:

This interface is designed to act like a desktop - the windows in this screen can be moved about, minimized, and resized. From this screen you can:

• Start and manage conversations. Double click a buddy on your Buddy List to start a chat. Using the icons in the chat window you can send and receive files, invite other buddies for a start a group group chat (for protocols that support it), view your chat history, and even play games, all within the Meebo Messenger interface. See Managing Conversations for more information.
• Manage your IM accounts. Using the accounts console you can sign on and off of any of the IM accounts connected to your Meebo ID. Click Sign on to more accounts to sign into additional IM accounts (and optionally connect them to your Meebo ID). For some networks you can also set your display name and profile information. See Managing IM Networks for more information.
• Add, remove, and manage buddies. As you connect IM accounts to your Meebo ID, the buddies you have added to these accounts will be added to the Buddy List on the right side of the page. You can add, remove, reorganize, and block buddies for most of your accounts using the Buddy List. See Managing Buddies for more information.
• Set your buddy icon, presence, and status. Your buddy icon is what other users see when viewing your profile. Your presence indicates whether you are currently available to chat. Your status is a brief message that lets your buddies know what you are up to. See Managing Your Presence and Status and Setting a Buddy Icon for more information.
• Set preferences. You can use the Preferences menu at the top of the screen to set preferences that change the appearance and behavior of Meebo Messenger, including privacy settings, sound settings, and email and password information. See Preferences for more information.
• Toggle sound off and on. Meebo Messenger can play audio sounds when you send or receive messages via IM.
  
  

  This is what the speaker icon looks like when sound is on. Make sure you have your computer speakers turned on as well to hear the sounds.

  If you do not see the speaker icon, make sure that the latest version of Adobe Flash player is installed on your computer, and if you have an application running that blocks Flash, add meebo.com to the exception list.
