How do I change my Meebo Firefox Extension options?

There are two ways to access the Meebo preferences window:

• Click on the “options” button at the bottom of your Meebo Firefox Extension window
• Right-click on the Meebo icon at the bottom right-hand corner of your browser and select “Options.”

I don’t want to automatically log in to Meebo every time I open Firefox; how do I turn that off?

Access your Meebo options window (click on the “options” button at the bottom of your Meebo Firefox Extension window OR right-click on the Meebo icon at the bottom right-hand corner of your browser and select “Options”).

Click on the box next to “Automatically sign on when Firefox starts” to de-select it, then click OK.

I don’t want to see my buddies when they log in or out; how can I change that?

Click on the boxes next to “a contact comes online” and “a contact goes offline” to de-select them, then click OK.

How do I stop the browser from blinking all the time?

Access your Meebo options window (notice a pattern?)(click on the “options” button at the bottom of your Meebo Firefox Extension window OR right-click on the Meebo icon at the bottom right-hand corner of your browser and select “Options”).

Click on the box next to “Blink browser window” to de-select it, then click OK.

My sidebar is gone; how do I bring it back?

There are three ways to display the sidebar:

• Press Alt+M
• Click on the Meebo Firefox Extension icon in the navigation toolbar of your browser, if it is visible
• Click on the Meebo icon at the bottom right-hand corner of your browser in the status bar, if it is visible

How do I hide my offline buddies?

Currently we don’t have that option, but your buddies who are online will always be at the top of your buddylist, so they will never be pushed off screen by your offline buddies.

Can I add or remove buddies on my buddy list directly from the sidebar?”

You can only add or remove buddies through the regular buddy list on the Meebo desktop.

How do I make my buddy groups show up on the sidebar?

Buddies are only sorted into groups in the main Meebo window.

I get an "unresponsive script warning" right after logging in.

Try changing the dom.max_script_run_time variable for firefox.

1. from browser address bar, type about:config
2. look for dom.max_script_run_time
3. double click on it and enter a greater value for the variable (from 10 to 30)
