We realize that your privacy is very important to you. Because of this, we provide controls to help you manage what others see. Here is a summary of what is public, what is private, and what can be changed on Meebo. For more information about your privacy, see our privacy policy.
Information we will never share with other users:
- Your email address
- Your age
- Your passwords
- Your IM buddy list
Information that will be public:
Your Meebo profile (http://www.meebo.com/profile/USERNAME) is public and can be viewed by anybody, whether they are signed in to Meebo or not. This page displays:
- Your name - The display name you chose when you created your Meebo profile.
- Your followers/people you are following - Your Meebo profile shows a few of your followers and people you are following at random. Users who are signed in can see your entire list of followers and people you are following by clicking the See all link under the Following and Followers Tabs or by clicking on an individual user's photo.
- Your check-ins and comments - When you check in to a site using Meebo, the check-in will appear on your profile.
Configurable Privacy Options

You can configure the following privacy options in your privacy settings:
- Photo display - You can opt out of the ability to show your photo on sites where you have recently checked in.
- VIP Settings - You can opt out of the ability to earn VIP status.
- Automatic check-in - There is no automatic check-in capability for the bookmarklet. Meebo Minibar browser extension can automatically check you into sites you have previously visited. You can opt out of auto check-ins on this page.
- Email notifications By default, we will email you when someone starts following you or we have updates to share with you. You can opt out of these email notifications.
