Tell me more about the new Meebo and Meebo Check-ins!

You can use Meebo to check in and share interesting content that you find on the web and then check back later to see how many people are looking at your check-ins. Get the Meebo bookmarklet to be able to check in anywhere on the web; when you visit Meebo.com, you'll be able to see how many clicks your check-ins are getting, including clicks from Facebook and Twitter. You'll also see where the people you follow are checking in and how many clicks their check-ins are getting.

What happened to Meebo Messenger?

Things are changing, but Meebo Messenger is still available at meebo.com/messenger.

Where are my chat logs?

You can still access your chat logs through Meebo Messenger at meebo.com/messenger.

How do I check in?

Before you can start checking in, you need to create a Meebo account and install the Meebo bookmarklet. Once you've created an account, you'll be able to drag the bookmarklet to your browser's bookmark bar.

When you find something that you'd like to check in to, click the Meebo bookmarklet to open the check-in panel. Using this panel, you can add a comment and share your check-in to Facebook or Twitter. The check-in will appear on your profile.

What do the numbers at the top of my home page mean?

The numbers at the top of your home page summarize your reach and influence on Meebo. You can see how many times you've checked in, how many people have clicked on your check-ins (including check-ins that were shared to Facebook and Twitter), how many followers you have, and how many people you're following.

What do the numbers next to the check-ins mean?

The numbers next to each check-in you see on Meebo.com show you how popular that check-in is. The top number shows how many clicks that check-in has received from any source. If the check-in was shared to Facebook or Twitter, you will also see how many clicks the shared check-in has received from those services. You can use these numbers to see how many people are clicking your check-ins and also to see what check-ins from other users are getting a lot of attention.

Who can see my check-ins?

Your check-ins can be seen by anyone who views your Meebo profile. People who follow you will see your check-ins and comments in their Recent stories.

How do I delete a check-in?

To delete a check-in:

1. Go to your profile page
2. Scroll down to find the check-in to be removed.
3. Hover your mouse over the check-in you would like to delete and click the Delete link that appears below the check-in.

How do I change stuff on my Meebo profile?

You can change your name, image, location, privacy, and other settings by clicking your name in the upper right corner and then selecting Account Settings from the drop down menu.

How do I follow someone?

You can follow someone by clicking the Follow button next to that person’s name. You can find this button on the user’s profile or when browsing lists of followers or people being followed. See Following for more information.

How do I stop someone from following me?

You can block someone from following you by clicking the See all link next to the Followers heading on your Meebo profile. Click the gear icon and select Block from the drop-down menu to block a user. See Following on Meebo for more information.

How do I change my privacy settings?

You can change your privacy settings at www.meebo.com/settings/privacy. Note that your Meebo profile, which shows your check-ins, comments, shares, followers, and people you follow, will always be public. For more information, see Managing Your Privacy.

How do I delete my profile?

In order to delete your profile, you must delete your Meebo account.

What is VIP status?

If you consistently check in to a site over a period of time, you can earn VIP status. See VIP status for more information.

Can I still use the Meebo MiniBar to check in?

We encourage all of our users to check out the Meebo bookmarklet, the preferred way to check in, but you can still use the Meebo MiniBar to check in.
