Meebo support

You can access Meebo Notifier Preferences and Account Settings by right-clicking the Meebo Icon in the Windows Taskbar.

Notifier Account Settings

The Account Settings dialog allows you to change what IM account Notifier connects to. Notifier can only connect to one account at a time, but if you are connected to your Meebo ID, you will receive notifications from any accounts connected to that Meebo ID (see Signing On to and Connecting IM Accounts for more information.

Notifier Preferences

The Preferences dialog contains 4 tabs: General, Notifications, Mail, and Network.

General Preferences

This tab allows you to configure the startup options as well as the browser that Notifier will launch when opening Meebo Messenger. This tab contains the following options:

• Launch Meebo Notifier when Windows starts
  Set this option to have Notifier opened and shown in the Windows Taskbar when Windows starts.
• Sign in automatically when Meebo starts
  Set this option to automatically sign on to Notifier when you sign on to Meebo Messenger at meebo.com. If this option is set, if you sign into another account using Meebo Messenger, Notifier will automatically sign in to that account as well (and sign off of any account it was already signed on to). Note that this means that you can be signed into Notifier with a different account than the one specified in Account Settings.
• Always check that Meebo can login on startup
  Set this option to have Notifier check to make sure that it can connect to Meebo when signing on to notifier.
• Launch Meebo in this browser
  Use this drop-down list to select the browser that the notifier will use to launch Meebo Messenger.

Notifications Preferences

This tab allows you to determine what events will cause Notifier to display a notification. This tab contains the following options:

• I get a new message
  Set this option to show a notification every time you receive an instant message through the connected account. Notifier will show the first few lines of the message in the notification.
• Hide messages after (seconds):
  Use the slider to specify how long received message notifications will be displayed. You can clear notifications by right clicking the Meebo icon in the Windows Taskbar and selecting Clear Notifications.
• a buddy comes online
  Set this option to show a notification when a buddy signs on to a connected IM account.
• a buddy goes offline
  Set this option to show a notification when a buddy signs off of a connected IM account.

Mail Preferences

This tab allows you to determine if Notifier will cause New Mail icons to appear on the Windows Taskbar, and, if so, which mail services will cause these icons to appear. Set the Enable mail notifications for these accounts options to turn on mail notifications, and then select which of your accounts you would like new mail notifications for.

Network Preferences

If you connect to the internet using a proxy server, Meebo Notifier will use the Windows proxy settings. Click Configure Proxy Settings to open your Windows Local Area Network settings.
